Glycolic acid

Glycolic acid is one of the most commonly used alpha hydroxy acids and acts as a powerful exfoliant. At a low pH or sufficient concentration it weakens the links between corneocytes and accelerates the removal of dead epidermal cells. It smooths the skin on the feet and leaves it very soft. By removing the dead skin layer, it also enables faster and deeper penetration of products applied as part of the follow-up care.

Lactic acid

Acts as a moisturiser and exfoliant. It stimulates the regeneration of the epidermis, strengthens the skin’s barrier function and contributes to an overall improvement in the condition of the skin on the feet.

• Before using the product for the first time, carry out a hypersensitivity test. Apply a small amount of the product to the clean skin on the inner side of your forearm and observe the skin’s reaction. Rinse the product after 5 min. If there are no unexpected skin reactions within five minutes (such as extreme redness, itchiness, tingling, stinging and/or raised skin bumps), you can begin using the product. Otherwise, rinse it off immediately and don’t use it.

• Apply the mask only to undamaged skin.

• The mask should be applied only to the soles of your feet. Apply it in a thin layer, wrap your feet in foil and leave the mask on for 5–15 minutes. Adjust the time according to the condition of your feet. The harder and more calloused the skin on the feet, the longer the application time should be (15 minutes maximum). After the end of the application time, rinse the mask off thoroughly with lukewarm water and apply the Afrodita Professional foot balm of your choice.

• Don’t expose your feet to the sun for 48 hours after applying the foot mask.

• Apply the mask as needed, but not more than once a week.

• Familiarity with normal side effects: application of the mask may cause mild to moderate redness or a warm, tingling, prickling or stinging sensation on the skin. These are all normal reactions caused by the effects of the AHA acids and will soon wear off.

• The product is not suitable for diabetics, pregnant women, nursing mothers, chronic patients, chemotherapy patients, or when sunbathing or undergoing a course of dermatological therapy.
