The story of Slovenia’s leading beauty company is the story of a brand that today offers more than 650 different cosmetic products to satisfied customers all over the world. Afrodita’s story. It begins in 1970 in Rogaška Slatina, a famous spa town and health resort. It is not a simple story, but a complex one that tells of tradition, innovations, business excellence, quality, social responsibility, success, trust and beauty.
It is the story of a cream that begins with an initial idea, takes shape in development labs, travels to different parts of the world in attractive packaging and expresses its true essence when it touches the skin.

/ A STORY THAT BEGINS AT THE END
At Afrodita Cosmetics we begin the story of every cream where it ends – with its users, by understanding their wishes, needs and expectations. Meeting these, and the satisfaction that derives from it, are the essential starting points for the development of every new story. Our marketing experts closely follow the changing trends and demands of the market and, together with our development team, come up with concepts for new products. Ideas for new products start to become a reality in the development laboratory. First and foremost this means selecting active ingredients which will work together in synergy to meet the purpose of the planned product.

/ FROM FIRST SAMPLES TO PERFECTED PRODUCT
We then use the selected ingredients to prepare the first samples, subjecting them to various measurements (viscosity measurement, gravitational stability testing, microbiological tests, etc.). This is how we test the interactions between individual ingredients and seek their optimum concentrations. This process often requires many changes to the initial formulation, which is gradually improved until the perfect combination is found.
/ PROVEN EFFECTIVENESS
Samples of the new product then go through internal effectiveness tests, carried out on volunteers at Afrodita Beauty Centres. The test results tell us how effective the product is with regard to its purpose of use, how and in what amounts it should be used, and whether it is well tolerated by skin. The results of these can, however, only be cited as the subjective perceptions of test subjects. In order to confirm them and subsequently use them as claims in connection with final products, the products are sent for testing to internationally recognised independent institutions. There they undergo effectiveness testing and tests supervised by dermatologists and paediatricians.
/ IN-HOUSE LABORATORIES AND MANUFACTURING
The story then moves from the development labs to our high-tech computer-controlled production process, where the products take on their final form on our automated filling line. At the same time, our own control lab and microbiological lab check physical, chemical and microbiological parameters.
